“‘We spring from the ground up’”
‘We spring from the ground up’ was created with Rumpus Room’s Young Artists Committee, during a residency in November 2024 at Hospitalfield, Arbroath. The group hosted a series of collaborative workshops: Grow Your Own Rumpus, Recipes for a Thriving Ecosystem, and eARTh Matters with Morven Mulgrew.
The conversations and learning from this residency are being shared in a publication in Summer 2025, called ‘Groundwork’. This publication considers the ecology of Rumpus Room, exploring the relationships between our community and environment in order to help find creative and sustainable ways to grow, share resources and build infrastructure that can meet our needs.
Rumpus Room is an artist-led initiative working in collaboration with children and young people on art and social action projects.
