‘Barreiro Improvised’

Streaming to us live from Portugal at 5pm – Jean-Phillipe Drecourt will perform a live electroacoustic journey through the sonic landscape of Barreiro near Lisbon.

Using field recordings from the Cidade Som archives, the project recontextualizes everyday sounds of the city, from the natural ambience of the Tagus River to the noises of its industrial heritage.

Central to the performance is the Chaos Conductor, a custom Max/MSP instrument designed for spontaneous sound exploration and live soundscape creation. Introducing elements of unpredictability, it creates a unique dialogue between the performer and the machine that makes every live performance unique.
