At 9am this morning sound artist and Shortwave Collective member Hannah Kemp-Welch speaks with a number of sound artists and VLF enthusiasts to explore their fascination with the soundscape of the ionosphere.
Electromagnetic waves fill the universe, radiating from solar storms and bursts of lightning. Using simple, DIY tools, we can transduce these very low frequency (VLF) radio waves into sound. This is nature’s radio.
