4PM Slump – The Look On Their Face

Monday, 7 September7:00 – 7:30pm

At 7pm this evening – ‘The Look On Their Face’ by 4PM Slump.

4PM Slump are Hanny Weddle & Andy Taylor. Hanny is a primarily visual artist who is interested in moss, lichens, experimental archaeology, patterns and repetition of organic forms. she does not really know how sound works but she likes to play. Andy is a DJ, radio enthusiast and musician who first had headphones put over his ears around the age of two and has never stopped listening to everything and everyone since then.

‘The Look On Their Face’ consists of a collage of field recordings of walking, sinking and clanging, snippets of voice notes and text turned into sound and instruments.

It explores the idea of walking and not finding a bog and otherwise walking and finding too much bog. The changes in the landscape, environment, flora and fauna that we are removed from until we try to seek it out. It explores the idea of preservation and submission to something bigger than us and something which we cannot change. It is also fragmented, sometimes sinister, silly, light hearted and deeply serious. We think you’ll enjoy it.
