FOQL – Bug Poems
Friday, 18 September⋅9:00 – 9:45am
This morning at 9am Justyna Banaszczyk AKA FOQL explores her love for bugs, creepy crawlies and all manner of mini-beasts.
‘Bug Poems’ leans towards sound poetry, exploring the voice, touching on strange emotions—the fear of the alien-insect, but also the fascination with it. It is an attempt to capture a feeling. The piece is the result of months of research exploring poetry, pop culture, philosophy, and entomology in search of a new sonic and poetic language. It’s an audial poetry, where the voice becomes both instrument and narrative, and where insects turn into metaphors for our inner worlds. It is a densely woven sonic narrative, exploring the radio play as a genre.
Bug Poems was realized with the support of an Artistic Scholarship from the City of Łódź.
