Milo Thesiger-Meacham – The Storm God Sleeps, From the Deep, Handling Noise, Adele ‘Hello’ (Aquatic Cover) & The Job

Sunday, 20 September⋅6:30 – 7:00pm

At 6.30pm Milo Thesiger-Meacham – artist, writer and artistic director of our partner radio stations, Resonance FM and Extra, presents us with five works about the pressures of air and water featuring original writing, music, field recordings and camera audio.

The five works are:

The Storm God Sleeps An original short story narrated by myself with recordings of Storm Eunice and music by The Dave Howard Singularity.

From the Deep An instrumental partly recorded live at Iklectik’s first space featuring train whistle, synthesiser, electric guitar, resonated strings and Rebeca Burden on cello.

Handling Noise A work built entirely from found sounds of GoPro cameras moving, falling, flying through air and water and between hands.

The Job An anonymous plumber speaks from memory about a finished job, featuring sounds from a camera thrown into the sea.

The Courtyard A short piece of writing, original music played on a pump organ and recordings of an underground waterway. Sounds and text years apart, brought together.
