Velvet Vulva – Clownscape

Friday, 11 September5:00 – 5:30pm

At 5pm today – Velvet Vulva (AKA Speculum Bunny) with Clownscape.

With a practice that spans performance, sound, video, and embodied ritual. Drawing on her background as a bodyworker, somatic sound artist, and magickal practitioner, she works with repetition, endurance, and sensory layering to explore emotional thresholds, female archetypes, and transformation.

‘Velvet Vulva – Clownscape’ is a live broadcast/performance exploring the maiden archetype through memory, nostalgia, and distortion. Using children’s toys as instruments such as plastic keyboards, toy microphones, bubble guns, small percussion she will weave a fragile sonic tapestry that draws on the textures of memory through sound.

The noises start soft, lullaby like, Lynchian and sentimental, then expand and descend into cinematic noise. Clownscape moves between tenderness and overwhelm, holding girlhood as fragile, sacred, and sweet. The piece reflects and celebrates the fleeting fragility of youth, where nostalgia can comfort and unsettle all at once.

Spoken word and playful poems drift through memory, looping, breaking, repeating. Dressed as a clown, she moves through the space, letting the performance spill into the room. The intention is for the piece be an immersive experience, where memory is ignited and the maiden archetype shimmers strangely and unsteady.
